I look around and I see how "good", modern day slavery has been made to look like and I marvel. But the irony is that, the modern day slave and the modern day slave master in most cases are the same person. Most modern day slavery are self-induced. People know what is right for them, people know what they are capable of, people have the ability to achieve great things and they bury all of these just because they think they can't survive without...

I can't survive without this job

I can't survive without this man

I can't survive if I leave my parents

I can't survive without money

I can't survive without food

I can't survive without...

Most of us are slaves to our bosses, our non-fulfilling jobs, to a particular partner, food, etc not because the other party wants to be our slave master, but because we willingly put ourselves under their control and to take ourselves off that entanglement right now is a problem that needs to be solved.

According to Google empower means to make (someone) stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights. One of the synonyms of empower is to Set Free.

Freedom is a mark of empowerment. Freedom brings about independence - being able to depend on one's self and ability for a good sustainable lifestyle. When you are empowered, your level of confidence increases, you are more bold and willing to face life.

People don't want to learn, they don't want to challenge themselves, they are not pushing for the gold because they never imagined at anytime in their life that they can even get a bronze and now that they have bronze, they are satisfied - they are not challenging and pushing harder again.

People don't want to move beyond their comfort zone even when it isn't comfortable. People just want to live a life of assurance - even if the assurance is that they are earning 50 percent what they are capable of. They like it because it provides some forms of certainties. They are afraid to live and face life and face the uncertainties life has to offer.

They are slaves to themselves and to their ways of life. People don't want to change. They are okay being the way they are even when it is not doing them any good. This is modern day slavery.

Live your life and face your uncertainties squarely and boldly. Life is meant to be lived and not feared.
