Made For Greatness

EIGHT years ago I was here sitting like this as these gentlemen and ladies - believing that I have made it and I am going all out to be a great and wealthy dude in Lagos, Nigeria. I was here to give my best and my all. But within one year, I was out. Out surprisingly. I thought I gave my best. I thought I gave my all. I thought my best deserve some level of consideration that will lead to permanent employment. But the truth is: What if your best isn't worth it What if your best can't make the cut What if your best wasn't the best they are looking for. For a long time I kept telling myself a wrong story as to why I couldn't make the cut - I had bad attitude. I kept repeating that to myself. What others told me. I told myself I was unteachable and that was why I was let go. I believed and started telling myself all the negative stories people gave me as reasons for not making the cut. But the irony is that, the modern day slave and the modern day slave master in most cases are the same person. Most modern day slavery are self-induced. People know what is right for them, people know what they are capable of, people have the ability to achieve great things and they bury all of these just because they think they can't survive without... Most of us are slaves to our bosses, our non-fulfilling jobs, to a particular partner, food, etc not because the other party wants to be our slave master, but because we willingly put ourselves under their control and to take ourselves off that entanglement right now is a problem that nee...

Don't tell me you want to do something. Just go ahead and do it. I don't need to know what you want to do, your mama or papp doesn't need to know, your friends don't need to know and your excuses too are not invited to the party. Whatever you want to do, go ahead and do it and the HOW's will come into the party of you don't give up, if you don't relent. Open your eyes, look at situations from different angles, be willing to learn and apply, be accepting and stop holding you back. Just do that thing you know you are meant to do. They say you can't give what you don't have. But, at the same time, amongst all you have, all you have been blessed with - how much have you given out. What are you able to give. I believe life is about giving. Once you can give, you have a heart to give out, then you are living a great life - give out good off course. There is this amazing great lady I work with - she is 10 years old and just entered Secondary School. I work with her as her coach in Mathematics. She is awesome and Great with high level of understanding. She is bold and very outspoken but I remember the day I told her this: Hey Jane (let's use Jane as against her real name) if there is any time I am being foolish in my class - if I am doing something that makes me to deserve the name a fool, just say it, don't be afraid to say, hey Mr Otavie, you are being a fool today. Perspective Matters a lot. Perspective is the way you view, you see or perceive something to be. It's the way you perceive someone that determines how you will treat and relate with the person. That same reasoning applies to life too. It's the way you perceive life that is how you will be made to think of and relate with life. To me life is amazingly great. Life is beautiful. Life is good. Life is awesome. I believe so much in the greatness of my life. I believe so much in the abundance my life has for me. I believe in strength. I believe in goodness. I see my life as an opportunity to make an impact, to influence people, to touch people, to make people here my story and re-believe in themselves. To let people know that they can if I can. If I was able to make it, then there is nothing stopping anyONE or them. Life is great and beautiful. You get in life what you put into it. Trust me, we are all Made for Greatness.
